Music should feel joyful — and build real skill
Hi, I'm Brandy Farrar. I founded Farrar Piano Studio to give students of every age a place to fall in love with the piano while building genuine, lasting musicianship. Lessons are warm and encouraging, but also thoughtfully structured so progress is steady and real.
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance, summa cum laude, from the University of Montevallo, where I was named a Presser Scholar and served as an accompanist for vocal students. Over the years, I have taught piano, accompanied students and singers, and served as a church pianist in several congregations, including Brent Presbyterian Mission Church and Aliceville Presbyterian Church.
I teach children and adults across the Luverne & Troy, Alabama area — in person and online — from first-time beginners to returning and advancing players. Every student is different, so lessons are tailored to each person's goals, interests, and the music that excites them.
Lessons follow my SCORE Method — five fundamentals that develop the whole musician, from posture and technique to reading and creative expression. It keeps lessons fun and well-rounded while building real, lasting skill (and the confidence to perform at our fall and spring recitals).
Brandy is a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Alabama Music Teachers Association.
